Sea Fennel, also known as Criste Marine, is a yellow-flowering succulent growing wild on the coastline of Greece. Tasting a bit like Carrots and Thyme, the lovely, edible blue-green leaves are a feature of coastal cuisines. Fed by the sun, sand, and nutrients carried by ocean waters and breezes, it is a rich source of sea minerals as well as omega fatty acids, vitamins A, C, E, peptides, polyphenols, and pigments. Time tested as a healing and medicinal herb, it was historically consumed to prevent scurvy and digestive imbalances.
The fragrance of Sea Fennel’s pale yellow essential oil combines the sweet earthy aroma of Carrots and the freshness of sea breezes with a top note of herbal-spice. The leaves are harvested, and steam distilled in the height of summer when the oils are bountiful and bursting with antioxidants, monoterpenes, and soothing plant constituents, such as dillapiole, that improve radiance, and renew and tone the skin, and boost collagen and elastin systems to aid resiliency.
One drop of Sea Fennel Essential Oil is a sparkling addition to salad dressings and a brilliant way to begin a meal. The lively botanicalbiotic components of the oil bless the belly with beneficial balance.
